[ Mako is very quiet, looking around for Sophia because where is she? She'd usually be running out to greet her when she comes home. Quietly coming up to him, she very gently takes her baby from Raleigh's chest, and to Nathan's credit, he stirs only a little, and instinctively latches on to her, still fast asleep.
Mako savours the familiar weight in her arms, the way Nathan instinctively tucks his head against her, and she gingerly moves to sit down beside him, leaning only to kiss his cheek. ]
You had a rougher day than he did, I see. Missed the three of you, too. [ She watches the game briefly, before asking. ] Where's Sophia?
[Raleigh could use a nap himself honestly, and that's a rare thing, for him to missing sleep since he can usually run on so little, and that's handling two kids under five every day too. Apparently even he counts on naptime to make it through the day, even if he doesn't sleep, it's just calmer during that time, so that's good to know.
He's glad when she takes Nathan, because even if Nathan wakes up and starts crying? Mako can calm him down better right now than Raleigh can. Their little boy is a mama's boy. That's probably fair since Sophia is daddy's little princess.]
She's still sleeping. She didn't get to go down for her nap for a while. She wanted to help with him.
[ Mako has to smile at that -- Sophia's getting better about her little brother's presence, and she knows that she puts special effort into it. Raleigh's methods of bribery definitely helps matters.
Feeling Nathan curl up against her, she settles by Raleigh; they work wonderfully as a team, and for that, Mako is both grateful and impressed. ]
I could make something for dinner, if you like. Let you get your rest.
[He leans into her when she gets close, resting his chin against her shoulder and just breathing her in, how close she is, how he seems to just feel better whenever Mako is close to him, where she's like a balm for his soul.]
You get him. I can make like grilled cheeses for the rest of us.
[ Oh, Mako really, really likes those. Grilled cheese is probably not the most healthy of food, but she really isn't going to say no to that. Smiling at the easy way he dispenses affection, Mako smiles. ]
Today must be a special day.
[ But she leaves him to it, and puts Nathan back in his cot in the nursery, making sure to take the baby monitor with her before she comes back down to the kitchen to help him out. ] What should I do? Plates?
[It takes Raleigh a couple minutes after she gets up to do the same, like he needs the motivation and wow, someone should've warned him that babies were so exhausting. Sophia was never this tiring but she also came with the quiet ability to talk and made her needs known and she only cried when she thought Raleigh was going to put her down. Not just because she like the sound of her own voice, unlike Nathan.
He's almost done with the grilled cheeses, making a little mountain of them because he and Mako can at least eat two just on their own and now that he's making food, he realizes he hasn't really eaten anything all day.]
Mmmn yeah. And then I think we should probably wake her up or she won't sleep tonight either.
[ Mako is attracted by the grilled cheese, and is tempted to steal one of it off the steaming pile before she's reminded of Sophia -- yes, yes, of course. And it's time for her dinner, too; she knows how grouchy she can get if she misses dinner.
But she leans over and gives him a good, proper kiss anyway, because he looks tired and Mako knows that caring for children and being a house-husband is really hard work, and she appreciates him for it. ]
Of course, Mr. Mom. [ And proceeds to wake Sophia. A few minutes later, she's emerging from her room, holding her hand as the little girl yawns, sleepy-eyed, still. ]
Go wash your hands, Sophia. Daddy made grilled cheese for dinner.
[Sophia makes a sound of approval, bouncing over to her little stool by the sink, so she can do just that. And Raleigh's putting the plate of grilled cheese on the table when they come in, so perfect timing. He stifles a yawn with the back of his hand, Mako might have to put her to bed tonight, the way he's going.
Where's Nathan she asks as they all take their seats at the table. Raleigh tells her that he's sleeping and thank goodness comes out of her mouth in reply because he was a screaming all day, Mommy.]
[ It's a delightfully domestic scene, and Mako looks up at Sophia's comment -- their little girl is developing quite the tongue, and it's no secret that she's taking awhile longer to be endeared to the newest member of their little family.
She glances at Raleigh, before she reaches out and gently rubs her daughter's back. ]
I heard you were a very good big sister today, Sophia, helping your daddy with him.
[Sophia practically beams under the praise, because she's young and she likes getting praise and attention from her parents that doesn't involve her little brother and there's been too much of Nathan around lately if you ask her. He's okay but she likes Mommy and Daddy more.]
Yeah, maybe we should try to talk Mommy into going to get ice cream.
[ Mako says firmly, giving Raleigh a dirty look because don't think she doesn't know what you're doing, using your little girl to wheedle ice cream from her. ]
You both just had it yesterday, we can't be having ice cream every day, or you'll become fat. Like a beach ball.
[ And she means you too, hubby dearest. Awwww, Mommy! ]
[It's a sad day when Mako is more concerned about his abs than Raleigh is. But then he never really worked out with the intention of having great abs to show off, he did because he likes the adrenaline rush that comes with exercise, and it was a great way to keep himself and his mind busy until he was just too exhausted to do anything else.
He doesn't really do a thousand crunches anymore but then he doesn't need to. Because he's not running from something, he's happy with his life with his wife and their kids.]
[ But Mako's smiling and maybe she could make an exception, just once. And hey, it would be an awful shame for Raleigh to let his body to go to waste, especially when Mako loves his abs almost as much as she loves him. ]
But you're both only allowed four each. After dinner.
[Excuse you, graham crackers are probably healthy. The melted marshmallows and chocolate for sure aren't, but she can't pretend like she's immune to the pull of chocolate.
Raleigh smiles as Sophia yells yes! and they share a high five before she goes back to eating, pretty much trying to shove the whole sandwich in her mouth at once.]
[ Probably? Mako loves chocolate as much as the next girl with an obsession with chocolate but she's a Mommy now and with that comes the instinct to regulate what their kids (and he) eat.
But she takes a moment to enjoy that little exchange, when Sophia bounces in her chair and heeds Raleigh. Soon enough, dinner is over, and Sophia's excitedly tugging at Mako while her husband's clearing the plates. Mommy! Mommy! You promised! ]
[Yeah, Mommy, you did promise. Raleigh sets the dirty dishes in the sink, he'll deal with everything tomorrow morning after she goes to work and turns on the gas burner on the stove. Because that's how you cook the marshmallows in sub degree Alaska, you know.
Of course-- now Nathan is feeling left out or something because the sounds of a fussing baby are coming over the baby monitor on the counter and it's like a ticking time bomb until he's screaming again.]
Here-- you want me to get him or make the s'mores?
[ Oh, Nathan. Mako sighs while Sophia frowns -- the latter apparently unhappy at the fact that the baby had decided to intrude on a family moment. ] No, I'll get him; he's probably hungry.
[ And her boobs are starting to feel all sore, anyway, which means it's feeding time. ] Why don't you and Sophia make the s'mores, and I'll join you both a little later?
[He probably is hungry, it's been a while since Raleigh fed him with a bottle so he doesn't have to know how Mako's boobs are feeling, he can guess. So he grabs Sophia and picks her up, it's still easy to do even though she's growing like a weed lately, mirroring her pout back at her because come on, darling.
Nathan's not so bad, remember, and this is how to make him stop crying.]
We'll get it started. Mommy will make him stop crying. Okay? We talked about this earlier, Sophia.
[ When is Nathan not hungry? Mako loves her little boy, but oh, this pregnancy thing is doing a number on her, and Mako gets to go back up and feed her little boy.
It's a half hour later when she comes down, burping a satisfied Nathan who is resting on her shoulder, staring at everything with amiable interest. Sophia, for one, is still annoyed and pouting, even if Raleigh is helping her to get out of that mood.
There's s'mores for treats, and Mako smiles, ruffling Sophia's hair. ] Haven't you eaten yet?
[To be fair, Mako-- Nathan's their child and they can both eat their literal weight in food, so no one should be shocked that the boy can eat. Or that he's gaining weight like crazy.
Raleigh tries his best to keep Sophia distracted. It works and it doesn't because she loves making stuff with him but at the same time, is a little girl used to her parents full and undivided attention so the competition of a little brother is just not okay.
We're waiting for you, Mommy! said as Sophia picks up a s'more and tries to hand it over to Mako and here, let Raleigh take the baby from her. Make it easier for everyone and not a fight.]

Yours has extra chocolate on it, Mommy.
