[Raleigh's hand moves to her belly when she says that, thumbing along her navel. Half the reason he married his queen is because he needs an heir, and yet here he still is, with Mako, not trying to make an heir on Naomi and life is spinning on much the same as it did before the wedding.]

Bastards have been legitimized before.

[ Mako's breath catches when his thumb smooths along her navel; there's a sweet intimacy in the way he touches her, always, and she can't help but wish that he'd put a son inside her, that she could at least bear him one -- not to keep Raleigh, but to know what he would be like as a father.

Her hand comes to rest lightly over his, and she leans over to kiss him softly, sweetly. ]

I don't care for that. [ the throne, as far as she's concerned, is a burden -- better that her son stays away from it. ] Even if you were not king, I would love to bear your child.

[raleighs]

[It's not through a lack of trying that they haven't had any children before now, maybe it's just not meant to be. He'd love to have a son by her, or even a daughter so long as their baby had her smile and her fierceness.]

You wouldn't be able to fight when pregnant, you know.

[ And what about him? Mako wants their child to inherit his traits, too -- his stubbornness, the adorable dimples that show up in his cheeks when he smiles, the warm, kind crinkle of his eyes when he's happy. She adores him, loves him enough to want his children just because.

Mako smirks and straightens, propping herself up on her elbows to meet his eyes. She can totally still kick ass while she's pregnant, just watch. ]

You've been raised around too many ladies, sire, and not enough warriors.

[raleighs]

[He doesn't doubt that she'd be capable of kicking ass while pregnant-- he's just not going to allow that to happen if she ever does fall with child.]

Mmmn, and you are getting too bold for your own good. [Raleigh closes the small space between them to kiss her softly.]

I couldn't let you risk what could be my only child.

[fissions]

[ It would be so easy to believe it, to fantasize about it; that she would one day bear his son, and it doesn't matter whether he is legitimised -- Mako doesn't want her son to inherit the throne.

She frowns, leaning to return the kiss, her hand pressing gently over his chest, smoothing over muscles. ]

Your only child...?

[raleighs]

[He shrugs a little. It's not as if he's making any progress on making an heir with his queen, especially after tonight because he's irritated with her and that's not very conducive to... making a child with her.]

Let's worry about it if and when it happens. I haven't any children to be concerned about right now.

[fissions]

[ Mako doesn't envy the queen tomorrow -- and perhaps it's a stroke of bad luck, to be smitten with a king who doesn't want very much to do with her, and Mako finds herself sympathising despite herself. The queen might be haughty and manipulative in the most underhanded ways, but still.

She runs her fingers through Raleigh's hair. ]

Yes, of course. Meanwhile, you should be concerned about your hair. It's getting longer.

[raleighs]

You don't like it longer?

[He hasn't been purposely growing out his hair, more like he's gotten distracted and busy and hasn't thought about it because it hasn't bothered him.]

[fissions]

I do, but you're going to look like a wildling if you let it grow any more.

[ Mako teases him, cupping the back of his head to guide him to kiss her again. Come on, let's have more kisses, Mako likes kisses. ]

[raleighs]

[He laughs into the kiss, as he rolls her onto her back again.]

And you have a problem with that?

[fissions]

[ Mako's eyes are bright and challenging, her smile genuine when she finds herself on her back with him above her, full of mischief -- it's a wonder, that she gets to see him the way no one else gets to. ]

Oh, I wouldn't mind. More for me to hold on to when we make love.

[ She leans up to nip at his bottom lip. ] But it's unkingly, Raleigh.

[raleighs]

[Something moves down his spine when she says that, when he pictures her gripping his hair with both hands and tugging on it and he instinctively shifts closer to her.]

I'll cut it in a few days then.

[fissions]

[ Mako notes that look in his eyes, recognises it and smiles, her fingers threading through his hair. ]

You're interested, aren't you? In what I just said earlier.

[ Because see, this is her, gently tugging. ]

[raleighs]

[This is him, making a soft pleased groan when she does, shifting against her again.]

I like many things that you do.

[fissions]

Like what?

[ Mako asks curiously, because tell her, babe. She wants to hear more of it, she wants to please him. She tugs a little more, easing him to bare his throat before she gently, firmly bites; sucks hard to make a nice-sized hickey. ]

[raleighs]

[Mako pleases him just by being around him, be realistic. He likes her being at his side, in his bed, if there's a day when he's separated from her for any reason-- he gets crabbier and it's obvious.]

People are-- going to see that.

[fissions]

[ She tells him, low and intent, sucking a more vivid kiss-bruise and marking him as hers, because let's be real here, he is, and that's never going to change. ]

I want them to know that you belong to me.

[raleighs]

[Raleigh makes a low, contented noise when she starts really going at his neck.]
