[In all honesty, Raleigh's going to talk to Hercules too, and get him on board with keeping Mako from working too much. It's because he loves her and the baby, honest.]

Can I come with you?

Are you sure?

[ Mako blinks, surprised. Oh, she loves you too, baby, although she wouldn't appreciate knowing that you and the Marshal Hansen are about to gang up on her. ] I thought you didn't like hospitals.

[raleighs]

[He doesn't just 'not like hospitals'. Hospitals make his skin crawl and remind him of too many awful times, of his mom and his brother and his own painful recovery and Raleigh does avoid them every chance he gets.

But this is Mako and his baby. It's different.]

I'm sure. I wanna be there for all of it.

[fissions]

[ Mako finds that adorable -- that he would come to see the ultrasound with her despite his... extreme preferences. So she kisses him for it, sweet and slow, because he's going to be a daddy to the baby that's growing inside her, and she knows that he's going to be the best.

Nuzzling into him, she muses. ]

I'll take you along if you promise not to tear up.

[raleighs]

[The ultrasound's a good thing. This one's a good thing, it's going to show them their baby, not how far the cancer's spread in his mom's body. Or how the nerves in his arm are fucked.]

Fuck that, I'm bringing a box of tissues for both of us.

[They're going to be parents again. Sophia is wonderful but this is different. It's just different.]

[ Mako laughs, reaching for his hand to thread her fingers through it, bringing it up to press a kiss to his knuckles in warm affection. ]

For you, you mean? [ Because Mako is not nearly as much of a crier as Raleigh is, and they both know it. ]

[raleighs]

For you to hand me, that's what I meant.

[He's not ashamed to be the crier, or to even acknowledge that he's going to cry when he sees the ultrasound.]
