[Raleigh has the decency to look a little ashamed of himself at that, even if she's not looking at him right now, she's clearly noticed where his eyes have been going back to, over and over all night. He can't help it, they're just there but he maybe feels a little shitty for making her feel like something to just ogle all night long.
He has literally not idea that she's been ogling him in his suit. Honestly, he kind of hates the suit because it's tight in places he's not used to and he definitely still hates wearing a tie and sweaters are just more comfortable, you know?]
[ She does; she smacks him in the arm when no one's looking -- which is a trickier thing to do than one might suppose, because there rarely are moments when no one is staring at either one of them, and Mako is acutely aware of the women's collective gaze on her man, which awakens the occasional possessiveness.
He gets smacked anyway, a faint hint of colour on her cheeks: although she really does like when Raleigh looks at her. Mako is far from feminine, but she enjoys when he can't take his eyes away from her all the same. ]
[Ow, hey! Raleigh winces, because he's such a girl or something but she hits harder than she looks, you know. Even when she's not all dolled up and glamorous, she looks tiny and perfect and she can take him down in four moves flat, imagine that.]

[He smirks to himself. He's sure that someone is watching them right now and wondering what they're talking about, because someone always is and will be, but it's just for them. Just him and Mako.]

[ Let them watch, she doesn't care -- she's the one who gets to have Raleigh all to herself, and the others can pretty much burn with envy. It's just the both of them against the world, and she gently links her fingers with his.
Quietly, and keeping a straight face, she says: ] But that means you won't be able to get at them whenever you like, when we do it.
[That's all true and good but he still shifts his stance, so that he's standing in front of their linked hands, so that most of the room can't see it. Because that's just for them.]
I could make that sacrifice one time. Because it really looks good on you.
[ Mako squeezes his hand, very clearly keeping a straight face like a champ. She shares his possessiveness, his need for privacy, and she understands completely. Still, she squeezes his hand when she sees him move, quietly affectionate. ]
