[ Mako looks over at him, openly curious. With him, she allows herself to hope, to yearn, to want -- with him, she allows herself to believe that there could be a happily ever after out there for them. ]

[ It's one of the few times where she learns about him, and Mako shakes her head -- she'd never had opportunity to venture to Alaska, but she's aware (roughly), of what it's like. ]

[It's cold and barren if you go more than hour outside the major cities and maybe that's just perfect for them. Her husband would never think to look there, and it's quiet there and simple and nothing at all like this lifestyle that has her so trapped.]
It's cold a lot, yeah and sometimes there's days when the sun doesn't come up at all. But you can see all the stars every night. And we could curl up by the fire every night.
