You could've just grabbed some guy off the street, I dunno.
[Pulling him down for a kiss by his dog tags is definitely going on the list of things that Mako does that Raleigh really likes. It's a long list, sure but that's not the point. The way she kisses him now has him shifting over her and nosing her throat and that shirt she's wearing is too much fabric between him and her and it needs to go.]
[ Mako will most definitely keep that in mind; because she does enjoy doing that to him, too. Sensing his pleasure, she tips her head back to give him more access, her legs coming up to wrap around his waist.
Come on, let's take some time to enjoy this, hmmm? She can always take the shirt off later. ]
That I have someone like you. [ She looks up at him fondly, running her fingers through his hair, smoothing over his strong, solid shoulders. ] You make me feel very lucky. Kiss me?
[He's getting better at it, accepting it when she gives him compliments, there's not the knee jerk reaction to prove to her that she's wrong. That he's just a washed up pilot who made a mistake that killed his brother and he's not special, he's just a guy. He can smile now, and kiss her jaw for a moment, just listening to what she has to say.
He loves her, he really does. She's the best thing that's ever happened to him. When he was a kid, he couldn't have hoped to fall in love with someone like her.]
I am kissing you. [See, he's practically worshiping her neck with his lips.]
[ Oh, that's lovely. Mako likes that -- she likes when he's gently, quietly affectionate, when his lips are what she feels on her skin. It's amazing how even after all this time, she's still so completely in love with him that her skin tingles wherever he touches, that she wants him with her everywhere, anywhere.
She wants more of him, and she comes to wrap an arm over his waist. He's not just a guy, he's never been just a guy, and they've worked a long time for him to accept what she tells him, the praises she gives him without deflecting them. They've still got a long way to go, but it makes her smile when he accepts it quietly, listening instead of denying it. ]
[He does what she asks, without question or hesitation because he loves her and he's actually rather giving with the people he cares about. Using one hand to move the collar of his t-shirt on her to the side, he starts making a line of kisses along her collarbone. Making sure one is covered before he moves on to the other side, layering kisses with teeth.]
[ And Raleigh spoils her, he spoils her silly with his generous attention and his lips, sweeter than sin and so recklessly tempting. She squirms against him, gasping and quiet and she wants him, and now, and making babies has never been so fun.
She's breathless and so very in love with him, pushing his pants off his hips. ] Love me.
Raleigh does just that, doesn't actually need any prompting or direction. Even if he does kind of neglect to peel his t-shirt off of her, because there's something undeniably sexy about Mako wearing his clothes, like it's just further proof that she's his and he's so stupidly lucky to have her, and the shirt's so big on her anyway that he doesn't have any problem sliding his hands underneath to get at the parts he wants.
He's not very good at being level headed, or setting his expectations low, every time they make love, he wonders-- hopes that this was the right time and that she's pregnant because he really, really wants a family with her. Even with doctors telling them both over and over it's not going to happen, not naturally, not from the both of them, he still believes it. Even now, when he puts his head down on her chest, listening to her heart as he catches his breath, he's wondering.]
[ Mako's cradling him to her chest, wrapping her arms around him when they're done, and it doesn't escape her notice that she still has his shirt on. It's really quite sexy and hot, and Mako makes a note of that as she runs her fingers through his hair.
They should do this more often.
But still, she's aware of what he's thinking even if he doesn't speak out loud, and her fingers drift over his cheek, caressing him absently. Mako's satisfied in all the right places, ravished and well-loved and thoroughly kissed, and she murmurs. ]
[He smiles a little into her shirt when she picks up on what he's thinking. Raleigh moves his head into her hand more, loving the feel of her fingers in his hair.]
[ Mako eyes him curiously. They'll need to wash up after, because she feels sticky, but she doesn't mind cuddling with him a while longer. Petting him with unmistakable fondness, she murmurs. ]
[ And it's not difficult to confess that when the sound of his laughter makes her smile, makes her feel warm and loved, and she noses his throat, pressing light kisses against his skin. ]
[This. This right here is really all that he needs in life. Where it feels like they're the only two people in the world. He likes that, he likes when it's just them and nothing else matters. Sure, he wants a baby with her, a little tiny baby with her eyes and her smile and her fire.
But if it never happens, if she's just glowing because she's happy right now, he wouldn't be disappointed.]
Yeah. Same to you. If it stays just us, I'm really okay with that.
[ Mako wants one, more than anything. She wants to make a baby with him because that's -- well, that's important. They're finally ready to settle down and to start a life with each other, what better than a child to fill the house with laughter? She'd want one with his dimples and his joy.
[That's true. But he also always planned on Yancy being a father long before he was ever one himself and look where that plan has gone. Raleigh's not sure he knows how to be a father, was totally counting on relying on Yancy when the time came because Yancy practically raised him and so he'd clearly know what to do all the time.]
I wanted to save the world too. [If having kids of his own was the price he had to pay for that, then well. That's okay. He still has Mako.]
[ The thought honestly hadn't occurred to her -- not through the lack of caring, but it just... hadn't. But he's right, even if they can't, the important thing is that they still had each other, right? And that's all that matters to her. Mako thinks about that for a moment; with the war and the destruction, Mako is aware that far too many orphans were made, far too many children who had endured tragedy with nowhere to go, and she smiles.
[It doesn't mean they're not going to stop trying. Miracles do happen, but it might be more realistic to focus on adoption. Raleigh has no idea where to start with that, it's not like he'd be going shopping for a pair of pants-- it'd be picking a child to raise and how's he supposed to know if it's right.]
[ They're definitely not going to stop trying -- because what if one day it really happens and they have one of their own? It's not worth ruling it out just yet, and Mako turns to trace idle patterns over his stomach. ]
[Raleigh wants a little girl, exactly like Mako that he can spoil and dote on. And he wants a boy to pass on all of his great boy wisdom to, and whatever that means. Do boy things with because yeah, it's different with boys than it is with girls. Growing up with a sister and a brother taught him that.]
I dunno. Both? Neither? That part doesn't matter so much. I don't know how we'd be able to just go somewhere and pick a kid, you know?
[ How poetic that it will be exactly what he does in the near future. Mako simply settles, letting that go as she thinks about it. Soberly, she comments: ]
It might be easier than you think. So many of them are homeless now.

[Not really but. He and Yancy did get into a lot of trouble.]
Or what if we pick the one that's possessed by the devil?
